HELPING MINISTRIES BECOME LEGAL
This department of our ministry was started to help small and new ministries to achieve the long and sometimes overwhelming task of legal requirements. Also to create a friendly environment for ministers to obtain and share resources. You can use our material or use it as a templet to create your own, that is all up to you. We are here to help with every step, just connect with us.
We are a movement that believes in uniting together, aligning our resources to fulfill one purpose, the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, so we may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causing growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love around the whole world.
The name of our movement is more a statement than a name when people say the name they are declaring a truth ‘Faith Works!'
Our ministry goal is to help and assist ministries to stay legal and compliant to the required standards to operate as a legal entity in our country.
WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER
Can we encourage you, as the Minister of your organisation to make sure your ministry is legal, ethical and above board, there are five (5) essential things every ministry needs to have in place to protect themselves against legal action.
1. Having a constitution and being registered with the necessary government body (we can help with this process click here for more information)
2. Creating a ‘Child and Young person’s protection and risk management policy’
3. Creating a ‘Workplace Health and Safety’ document
4. Obtaining appropriate insurance
5. Obtaining a copy right license to be able to play music and DVD’s in your ministry
Let us say from the beginning we understand that this will look like a lot of work. This is the reason we have produced some guidelines for you to work with and then you can focus on any local policies that are individual to your situation. It is essential that policies and procedures be developed and adopted by ministries to ensure not only consistency of practice, but also that the organisation adhere to and work within current legislation both State and, where appropriate Commonwealth or Federal.
